This is the authentic family recipe from Winona’s past. Our family recipe originated with my father, Mose Bambenek, who was the head chef at the famous “Hot Fish Shop” restaurant in Winona, Minnesota for 60 years. It is in his memory we are producing this gourmet tartar sauce. Try it. You’ll be hooked!
This is the Fish Shop Tartar Sauce without the Mayo added. A product for the customer who wants diversity. The two year shelf life on this product allows you to mix smaller quantities and have fresh Tartar Sauce everytime you use it. For the customer who wishes to try alternative mixing mediums, such as a soy based mayo or yogurt, this product is great. To 1/4 cup Tartar Sauce mix, add 1 cup mixing medium. One pint of Tartar Sauce mix will yield approximately 2 and a half quarts of finished Tartar Sauce.

DIRECTIONS: Combine 1/4 cup mix with 1 cup of good quality mayonnaise. Serve.
INGREDIENTS: Turnip greens, dill pickle relish, onion, parsley, capers, sugar, dill weed.
KEEP REFRIGERATED. Use by expiration date on bottom of jar.
